GRANT RESEARCH ASSOCIATE in plant metabolic engineering The City University of New York

NIH-funded position available immediately to work on metabolic engineering of the carotenoid biosynthetic pathway, particularly in endosperm tissue. PhD with strong background and experience in molecular biology (library screening, gene cloning, DNA hybridization, DNA sequencing/analysis, RNA extraction and analysis, RT-PCR, western analysis, plant transformation, etc.), plant biochemistry (especially HPLC analysis), and genetics, are required. Candidates should have demonstrated strong communication and writing skills, ability to work independently, and to interact in a collaborative research group. Funding will be commensurate with experience and will be available up to four years, subject to financial ability.
